Michelle Heaton shares rehab throwback as she marks two years of sobriety
The singer battled substance abuse problems for years before getting sober
Michelle Heaton has shared a throwback photo of the day she went to rehab as she prepares to mark two years of sobriety.
The Liberty X star battled substance abuse problems for years, and previously revealed she used to buy vodka instead of doing the school run and that at one point she was warned she could die if she didn't do something.
Posting a snap on Instagram of her outside the rehab centre, Heaton told fans that when it was taken she was “bewildered, confused, sad, sick and very frightened”.

She also shared that she is about to mark two years without alcohol.
“#tbt 2 years ago today I arrived on the steps of the @priorygroup,” wrote the 43-year-old.
“Bewildered, confused, sad, sick and very frightened.
“That day I took my last drink.
“Therefore my sobriety date is tomorrow .. please God.”
The mum-of-two went on: “It feels like a lifetime ago and in some ways like it was yesterday.
“I can still remember heading into there wanting to come out a controlled drinker. A normal drinker. I had no idea how bad I actually was, and that that day would be my last day of drinking.
“As long as I continue to do my meetings, step programme and work on myself I don’t ever need to go back.”
Heaton’s husband Hugh Hanley was among those to congratulate her on her achievement, writing in the comments section: “So proud of you and how hard you work to achieve all these wins, I know it’s not easy but you are an inspiration to myself and the kids.”
Singer Natalie Appleton said Heaton had “done incredible”.
