Motorcyclist taken to hospital following crash with van

A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital following a crash.

The crash involved a motorcyclist in his 30s and a van which took place on Church Hill, Piddlehinton this morning.

Police attended the incident with the ambulance service and the motorcyclist was taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be serious.

The father of the motorcyclist said: “My son was on his way to work and at the moment he’s waiting for some x-rays and a CT scan on his shoulder.

“There were some guys who were working nearby that I would like to thank as they helped to manage the traffic and moved his bike to the side of the road.”

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We were called at 6.29am on Tuesday, June 25 to a report of a collision involving a van and a motorbike at Church Hill in Piddlehinton.

“Officers attended with the ambulance service. The motorcycle rider was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are not believed to be serious. Road cleared at around 7.30am.”

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 6.22am on Tuesday, May 25 to a road traffic incident in Puddletown.

"We sent one double-crewed land ambulance to the scene and conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Dorset County Hospital."
