Nappanee woman, child injured in Friday crash

Apr. 5—WARSAW — In what a news release described as a "serious crash" a Nappanee woman and a child were injured Friday evening.

Shortly after 6 p.m. Kosciusko County Emergency Personnel were dispatched to the intersection of C.R. 1000 North and CR 450 East, the release stated. When first responders arrived on scene, they located a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer off the south side of roadway just west of C.R. 450 East. They located a 38-year-old female from Nappanee, identified as Alisha Rowe, that had been ejected, and a nine-year-old boy that had also been ejected.

Rowe was flown from the scene to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne and the boy was transported by EMS to Lutheran Hospital. Both patients were suffering from internal injuries, the release added.

The 2006 Trailblazer was traveling west bound on C.R. 1000 North approaching C.R. 450 East. The Trailblazer left the north side of the roadway for an unknown reason and traveled through a field. The Trailblazer then went across C.R. 450 East and continued through a field. The Trailblazer rolled several times and came to rest off the south side of C.R. 1000 North.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Office was assisted on the scene by the Kosciusko County Fatal Team, Syracuse Police Department, Syracuse Fire and EMS Department, MedFlight Air Ambulance and the Kosciusko County Highway Department.
