A popular park and nature reserve is closing for almost three weeks to allow work to occur.

Lynford Water and Lynford Arboretum, in Thetford Forest, will close from July 1 until July 19, although its businesses will remain open.

The grade II Historic England listed site is overseen by Forestry England which is completing the works.

Over the three weeks, the dog activity course will be removed from the Arboretum.

A Forestry England spokesman said: "This course has been loved by visitors to the Arboretum, but like many manmade features in our woodlands this has come to the end of its natural working life."

Workers will install a new well-being walk that will start at Lynford Stag and link with the Arboretum.

Civil engineering works will also occur on the site including work on the dams due to the spillways showing signs of wear and leakage.

Forestry England has promised that any trees felled in the works will be replaced.
