Apple TV+ has an exciting month ahead in October, with a drama, horror docu-series and a documentary about a real-life spy.

One highlight of the month is the adaptation of Bonnie Gramus' hit book Lessons in Chemistry, which stars Brie Larson in the lead role.

Elsewhere The Enfield Poltergeist is also set to be released in time for Halloween, and The Pigeon Tunnel is another highlight of the month.

Martin Scorsese's newest collaboration with Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio killers of the Flower Moon is also coming to cinemas in October, the film is getting an exclusive theatrical release from 20 October ahead of its as-yet-unconfirmed release on Apple TV+.

Several of Apple TV+'s shows are also set to come to an end in October, with the second season of Invasion and the comedy series Still Up airing their finales during the month.

One book that is always recommended on social media groups like Bookstagram and BookTok is Lessons in Chemistry, a light-hearted romantic drama about a chemist Elizabeth Zott (Larson) as she navigates inequality and sexism in the 1960s.

As the only woman in a male-dominated industry, Zott is hoping to make her mark and undo the inequality she faces, and one of her colleagues is keen to do the same.

It is the haunting that inspired the second film in The Conjuring universe, and the real-life event is now being explored in a chilling new docu-series called The Enfield Poltergeist.

In 1977 a family in Enfield, London, were terrorised by a horrifying haunting, and the new show will combine hours of rare audio footage, a recreation of events, and interviews with those directly impacted by the case to bring fresh new insight into the event.

The life and career of former British spy David Cornwell is being explored in a new documentary, the agent is better known by his pen name John le Carré and his hit espionage novels Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and The Spy Who Came in From the Cold.

Apple TV+'s new film explores six decades of le Carré's life from the Cold War to present day, and also features the author in a final, thought-provoking interview filmed before his death in December 2020.
