Christian Bale To Return As Batman Alongside Henry Cavill's Superman In Justice League Film?

Christian Bale could be set to return as Batman in DC comics’ Justice League movie, according to a report.

The deal which could make it happen is an alleged move by Warner Bros to give Batman trilogy director Christopher Nolan complete control over the comics’ universe, which sees its next instalment with Henry Cavill’s turn as Superman in Man of Steel.

The Superman reboot will be directed by Zak Snyder, but Nolan will executive produce, and the Latino Review, a site with a decent record of scoops on superhero and sci-fi movies, last month breaking the news that Harrison Ford was set to return to Star Wars.

The website claims that the Justice League movie has “gone into lockdown”, with Warner Bros pulling out all the stops to ensure that it is a success.

What’s not in doubt is that Marvel and Disney’s success with The Avengers (as well as the reboot of Star Wars) has put pressure on Warner’s to make the most of its major franchises’: before The Avengers it may have made sense to retire Nolan’s caped crusader and focus their efforts on Superman, with each in standalone franchises.

However Marvel’s plans for an interlinking universe with regular spin-offs, all overseen by Avengers director Joss Whedon, including Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 this year have upped the ante.

And as the Latino Review points out; what better way take on Marvel than to field Batman alongside Superman in an attempt to blow their rivals out of the water.

Bale has said in the past that he may return to the role of Batman; but only if Nolan is in charge and convinces him with an incredible script.

If Nolan is taking Justice League by the scruff of the neck than Bale as Batman again may have moved a step closer.
