'I Don't Think So': Joseph Gordon-Levitt Unlikely To Join Ben Affleck In Superman, Batman Crossover

Joseph Gordon-Levitt has said he is unlikely to star opposite Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill in the upcoming Man Of Steel sequel, which will unite Superman with Batman.

The actor was a huge fixture of The Dark Knight Rises last year, and - spoiler alert - was revealed in the final few moments of the film to be the Gotham City hero's famous wingman Robin.

However, speaking in support of his new project Don Jon, the actor said that he is not involved with the forthcoming movie. Probed on his involvement by Jay Leno, he said: "I don't know. I don't think so.

"I don't have anything to do with that movie. I was in a movie that was the end of a trilogy that I was super proud and fortunate to be in."

Christian Bale won plaudits for his portrayal of Batman in the Dark Knight trilogy, but the reaction to Ben Affleck landing the role in the upcoming blockbuster has been more than a little mixed. The 500 Days Of Summer star, however, insists that Jennifer Garner's Oscar-winning husband is "going to be great" in the role.

Gordon-Levitt recently revealed that he has a secret girlfriend; a revelation that came out last week during an interview with Howard Stern.

"I have a girlfriend but I tend not to really like to talk about it in the public," he admitted. When asked if he's in love, he blushed: “Aw, geez, man, come on. This is getting private."

He explained: "Let me give you a reason. Maybe you'll take this, or not. But what you and I do is a little different. You get on the air in your performances as Howard stern yourself.

"I get up in movies and I play other people. So when the audience is watching the movies, I don't want them thinking about me and who I'm dating and blah blah blah. I want them to see the character, the story that I'm telling."
