James Bond Beats Batman As 'Skyfall' Passes 'The Dark Knight Rises' To Become Seventh Biggest Movie Ever

Daniel Craig's latest outing as James Bond, 'Skyfall', has officially passed the closing part of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy 'The Dark Knight Rises' at the worldwide box office, becoming the seventh highest-grossing film ever in the process. '

According to Comingsoon.net, Sam Mendes' 007 flick has now made $1.094 billion, beating out Batman's  $1.081 billion.

The film's leapfrogging of 'The Dark Knight Rises' by the Bond film has been caused by the movie receiveing a major boost from its Chinese box-office, where it only opened on January 21.

The movie, which also stars Javier Bardem and Judi Dench, is now seventh on the all time box-office list, behind 'The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King' ($1.119 billion), 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon' ($1.123 billion), 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2' ($1.328 billion), 'Marvel's The Avengers' ($1.511 billion), 'Titanic' ($2.185 billion), and 'Avatar' ($2.782 billion).

It is far and away the most successful Bond movie to date, doubling the takings of Craig's previous outing as the suave secret agent, 'Quatum of Solace'
