Jared Leto Goes Grunge At 2014 Independent Spirit Awards

Jordan Catalano, is that you? Jared Leto appeared to be channeling his grungy My So Called Life character when choosing his outfit for Saturday’s Independent Spirit Awards. The Oscar-nominated actor, who is still sporting the long hair he grew for his role in The Dallas Buyer’s Club, chose a leather jacket and motorcycle boots to brave the stormy Southern California weather, and even added the ultimate 1990s grunge accessory to his outfit: a flannel shirt tied around his waist!

Jared took home the Best Supporting Male award at the ceremony, which is dedicated to honoring the work of those involved with independent movies. Jared’s Dallas Buyers Club co-star, Matthew McConaughey picked up the Best Supporting Male award at last year’s ceremony.

Jared also wrapped a flannel around his waist for dinner with photographer Terry Richardson at Beverly Hills eatery Mr. Chow’s on Thursday night. Terry is friends with Miley Cyrus, whom Jared is rumored to be seeing.

Hopefully Jared will leave his trusty flannel shirt at home when he attends the Academy Awards tomorrow night in Hollywood. He will compete against Bradley Cooper, Barkhad Abdi, Michael Fassbender and Jonah Hill for the Best Supporting Actor award.
