'I Want To Try That!': Johnny Depp Gobbles Up Scorpions On Set Of Lone Ranger

Johnny Depp is an odd ball, and we have known that for many years, but now it's emerged that he's a bit of a daredevil too - with a penchant for living on the edge (when it comes to trying things out).

The Lone Ranger star was on the set of the new Disney movie when he took his co-star Armie Hammer by surprise - when he agreed to pop a large, living scorpion into his mouth.

As part of the movie, Disney hired scorpion handlers for some tricks in the film - and it sounds as if Johnny was keen to give it a go while Armie was far from keen.

In an interview with Playboy magazine, Armie revealed how the Pirates of the Caribbean actor wanted to get to grips with everything in order to get a scene right - even if they weren't shooting.

"We had these scorpion handlers on set for this freak show kind of scene," Armie recalls in his interview with Playboy magazine.

"Now, these scorpions were so massive that you'd barely be able to fit one into a cereal bowl (and) after the scene, we went to check out the dudes who handle them and one of the handlers just opened his mouth and one of the scorpions crawled out.

"I was like, 'OK, I'm good!' and I walked the hell away, but Johnny said, 'I want to try that!' and just shoved it into his mouth."

But while Johnny seemed to be a little daring, Armie revealed that he loved working with the veteran actor: "He's a total character - a bohemian and an artist in the truest sense."
