The Government has unveiled data showing the performance of schools across the country in key subjects. Back in April, we disclosed the top and bottom five secondary schools in Nottinghamshire for progression based on data from the 2022/2023 academic year - and last month we used the same data to compare maths scores at schools across the county.

Every year, the Government gathers performance data from all schools and colleges nationwide to assess how students fare in crucial subjects like maths, reading and writing - for example, the maths score reflects pupils' performance in the Key Stage 2 maths test.

The reading score, known as the reading 'scaled score', is an average for pupils at each primary school across the UK. The expected standard is a score of 100 or more, with scores of 110 or more considered above standard.

We've analysed this data and pinpointed the top five primary schools in both Nottingham and the wider county, as well as those at the other end of the spectrum, based on their reading scaled score. St Teresa's Catholic Primary School in Broxtowe has been crowned the best in the city with a score of 110, which is above average.

In Nottinghamshire, Bunny CofE Primary School in Bunny leads the pack with an impressive score of 114. For our list, we have excluded SEN schools.
