Oleksandr Usyk has sent a clear message to Jake Paul ahead of his fight with Mike Tyson, advising the YouTuber to abandon boxing before his showdown with the former heavyweight world champ. Paul, who's developed a niche in the world of boxing by challenging fellow internet celebrities and MMA competitors, is scheduled to square off against 58 year old Tyson in Texas this summer.

The clash is the subject of much debate among boxing fans, with many criticising Paul's decision to step into the ring with veteran Tyson. Usyk, meanwhile, is gearing up for his title fight against Tyson Fury later this month and offered Paul some curt advice during a promotional video for the match.

Participating in a word association game, when asked about his thoughts on Paul, Usyk simply replied: "Stop boxing". He also gave his two cents on Paul's nemesis KSI, labelling him a "blogger".

Usyk's bout with Fury has been a long time coming, having been first lined up for April of last year. Initially set to face-off just before Christmas, the fight was delayed after Fury had trouble overcoming Francis Ngannou in October, leading to a rescheduling request reports the Mirror.

Their contest was then moved to February 17, but the Brit had to withdraw following a cut sustained during one of his final sparring runs. The fight has been set for May 18, with both contenders vying to become the first four-belt heavyweight champion and the division's first undisputed champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999.

Usyk also has his sights set on following in the footsteps of Evander Holyfield by becoming an undisputed heavyweight champion after already dominating the cruiserweight division. "I'm not 100 per cent sure [the fight will happen]," Usyk has expressed during the build-up.

"I will be sure when I'm the ring. I will stand in one corner, Tyson Fury will stand in the opposite corner, between us a referee in a white shirt, and only when I hear the sound of a bell - that's when I'll understand that yes, the game is on." Fury, meanwhile said: "I'm in fantastic shape. I'm having a fantastic training camp and have got a good team around me, everything is going to plan. I'm working very hard, I've got my dad in camp this time, so I've got my secret weapon. We've got a full circus camp, so can't do any more really."
