Person hospitalised after car 'collides with bus stop and telegraph pole'

A person has been taken to hospital after a car reportedly collided with a bus stop and a telegraph pole.

Emergency services were called to Garstang Road in Catterall last night (April 21) shortly after 6pm. The incident happened between Catterall Gates Lane and Bowgreaves Drive and resulted in police, firefighters and paramedics attending the scene.

Witnesses reported seeing a car collide with a bus stop and a telegraph pole. The road was closed in both directions for around an hour and Lancashire Constabulary said it was classed as a 'minor injury' collision.

In a statement this morning, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: "At 18:05, two fire engines from Fulwood and Preston attended a road traffic collision involving a vehicle on Catterall Gates Lane, Preston. Firefighters stabilised the vehicle, made it safe, and one casualty was taken to hospital by ambulance.

"Fire crews were in attendance for approximately fifty minutes."
