Piers Morgan makes shocking offer to Theresa May on Good Morning Britain

Is Piers Morgan trying to hammer the final nail into Theresa May’s coffin?

Piers shocked viewers and his Good Morning Britain co-host, Susanna Reid today when he made an offer to the prime minister to shoulder some of her duties, after she welcomed in a hung parliament and refused to resign as the head of the Tory party following the snap general election on Thursday.

Piers has volunteered himself and Susanna to head into the Brexit negotiations on behalf of Britain, just days before they are scheduled to start.

When Susanna commented: “Somebody has to at some stage go into these Brexit negotiations. They are due to officially begin in just 10 days time.”

Her on screen hubby replied: “It may have to be us at this rate. I’m available. We could get stuck into those Europeans.”

Guest Robert Peston said: “I think the issue is, could we do any worse? Probably not.”

Fans joined the debate on Twitter and said Piers and Susanna could probably “do a better job of it”.

One tweeted: “Yes go on Piers say it how it is !!”

Another even joked that entertainment reporter Richard Arnold could be “Press Secretary”.

Last month, Piers launched a bid to move into 10 Downing Street. Perhaps he saw his pal Donald Trump’s transition from celebrity to political leader and wanted the same?

After he was pictured outside 10 Downing Street, he attempted to kick start the hashtag “PMforPM”.

He posted: “Come on Britain, ignore @susannareid100’s grimace, you know it makes sense… #PMforPM.”

To be fair, Good Morning Britain has enjoyed its highest ratings ever this month…
