Police Clash With Groups of Protesters Amid Central Paris Rally

Hundreds of Parisians gathered at the Place de la Republique in Paris on February 18 for a demonstration against police brutality in the wake of the violent February 2 arrest of a young black man in Aulnay-sous-Bois.

This video shows a number of clashes between police and small groups of those gathered for the rally, some of whom can be seen throwing objects at police. Officers in riot gear can be seen charging at protesters and dragging some of those involved behind police lines.

Thirteen people were arrested, according to French reports, with a total of about 2,600 people reportedly taking part in the rally. Credit: Clément Lanot via Storyful
