A police cordon was in place after a crash near a Nottingham supermarket. An accident involving one vehicle occurred on Top Valley Way on Saturday morning (April 27), blocking the road in both directions.

The crash took place near the Top Valley Tesco, between the A611 Hucknall Road and Ridgeway. Traffic monitoring website Inrix stated: "Top Valley Way in both directions blocked due to accident, one vehicle involved between A611 Hucknall Road and Ridgeway."

Buses were also operating on a diverted route as a result of the incident. In a statement on X (previously Twitter), Nottingham City Transport said: "Brown 15 and 16 are diverting along Old Farm Road in both directions due to an incident near Top Valley Tesco.

"Stops on Ridgeway and Top Valley Drive cannot be served." According to Google, traffic in the area was slow on the portion of the road towards the roundabout of Ridgeway, Top Valley Way and Top Valley Drive.

The road reopened shortly after 11.30am.
