Suella Braverman is facing calls for her dismissal over an article she wrote for The Times doubling down on her position over the pro-Palestine marches planned for Armistice Day.

The home secretary accused the police of double standards after they said they would allow the protest to go ahead - suggesting they were "playing favourites" with pro-Palestine demonstrators, whom she said were “largely ignored, even when clearly breaking the law”.

A senior Conservative described Braverman's comments as "unhinged" in an interview with the BBC, while Labour said the home secretary was "out of control" - with both Labour and Lib Dem MPs calling for the prime minister to sack the home secretary over the issue.

“Rishi Sunak must finally act with integrity by sacking his out-of-control home secretary," said Lib Dem leader Ed Davey.

An officials spokesperson for the prime minister said No10 had not approved a final draft of Braverman's article before it went to press.
