It’s not often the RW test team agree on something, but when the first version of the Reebok Floatride Energy came out, everyone was surprised by the quality of this out-of-the-blue shoe from the now-Crossfit-centric brand.
It was great value (it won our ‘best-value shoe’ award in our 2019 shoe-of-the-year guide), comfortable, highly praised by a wide variety or runners and across many disciplines, and it impressed on all runs.
Version 2 continued the theme of general excellence; the midsole remained unchanged but Reebok addressed a couple of fit issues, with a new engineered mesh upper that sits closer to your foot. The heel fit has also been improved through the addition of high-density foam to cradle your foot and lock it in place.
