Rylan has cancelled a string of public appearances to promote his new autobiography with no explanation.

The Strictly: It Takes Two was due to appear at Waterstones book shop at Bluewater shopping centre in Kent on Sunday 25 September at 3.30pm to sign copies of his new memoir Ten: The Decade That Changed My Future.

Fans had been able to buy tickets in advance with the promise of meeting Rylan and having their book signed.

But the event was cancelled on the day, along with all of the TV presenter's planned book signings at Waterstones stores around the country.

A statement from the booksellers said only: "Owing to unforeseen circumstances, our planned signing with Rylan has been cancelled."

He was also due to appear at stores in Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham later in the week but all the events have been cancelled.

Yahoo UK has contacted a representative for Rylan for comment.

On Wednesday 21 September the radio presenter Rylan appeared at Royal Festival Hall in London to discuss his book with Claudia Winkleman, and afterwards was scheduled to sign books for an hour.

In the memoir Rylan reveals he tried to end his own life after his marriage breakdown.

The 33-year-old TV star split from his husband Dan Neal in June 2021 following six years of marriage.

He wrote: "For the first time in my 32 years, I felt I couldn't carry on no more.

"'What's the point?' I thought. I'd lost what I thought was everything, the one thing I always wanted. A man I loved. A family of my own. And now it was gone. So I tried to end it."

At the time the TV presenter — known for fronting revivals of Supermarket Sweep and Ready Steady Cook — stepped away from the spotlight to focus on his mental health.

He took a 10-week break from presenting his BBC Radio 2 Saturday afternoon radio show and pulled out of presenting the BBC's Eurovision live semi-final coverage in May.

Rylan — who found fame on The X Factor under the name Rylan Clark — married ex-police officer Dan Neal in November 2015 after being engaged for a year, and took on his husband's surname.
