Rylan Clark-Neal to present 'Ready Steady Cook' reboot without Ainsley Harriott

Having already landed a presenting role on ITV2’s revival of Supermarket Sweep, Rylan Clark-Neal has now been signed up for another series reboot in the shape of the BBC’s Ready Steady Cook.

Clark-Neal will be taking over as presenter of the classic culinary show from Ainsley Harriott, who appeared in over 1,000 episodes before it was cancelled in 2010.

Speaking about his new presenting role, Clark-Neal told The Sun: "I'm so excited that Ready Steady Cook is finally coming back to our screens.

"To be asked to host such an amazing show for the BBC is such a privilege. After making the finals of Celebrity MasterChef, I know how tough cooking under pressure can be."

In each episode of the show, two contestants are teamed up with a professional chef. With £10’s worth of ingredients, they must make a meal within 20 minutes.

For the second challenge, the contestants’ time is cut in half as they’re tasked with making another dish based on the studio audience’s ingredient cards.

Prior to landing Ready Steady Cook and Supermarket Sweep, Clark-Neal was developing his presenting skills on the likes of Big Brother’s Bit on the Side and This Morning.

Later this month, he’ll also co-present Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two with Zoe Ball.

“Me and Zoe are sort of sharing duties, she’s doing the Breakfast Show on Radio 2,” he told ‘This Morning’ at the end of August.

“She just wanted to take a step back. It’s a lot of work doing early mornings and nights as well.”

Perhaps revealing more than he should have, he continued: “I might as well just say it – I’m going to be doing Mondays and Tuesdays, Zoe’s doing Wednesdays and Thursdays, and we’re both doing Friday, which is amazing. It starts in two and a half weeks.”
