Scarlett Moffatt 'sad' to lose thousands of social media followers - after posting support for World Pride Day
Reality TV star Scarlett Moffatt has took to social media to express her disappointment at losing thousands of followers - after expressing support for World Pride Day.
The breakout Gogglebox star posted a video to her Instagram account showing her dancing with pals and family members while mid-flight to New York to take part in Pride celebrations.
Her excitement for her trip soon soured however, when she noticed her follower numbers begin to drop after posting photos with captions expressing her support.
Moffatt took so social media to say: “Time to slightly rant: Coming to New York to celebrate world pride with my best friends and my mam.
“My friends who are sometimes my brothers and sometimes my sisters when they are their amazing alter ego drag queens.
“It makes me both happy and sad at how far we have come to support the LGBTQ+ community but also how far we have to go before there is equality.
“People are still losing their lives and being physically and verbally abused and outcast just because of their sexuality and it needs to STOP.
“It makes me sad that since posting yesterday about my support of the lgbt community I lost over 7,000 followers, it really upsets me at the attitudes people have.”

She then urged her followers: “Like this post to show your support for believing we should be able to love who we want to love.” To this point the post received more than 43,000 likes.
She later posted another picture, with a caption saying she was ‘blocking out the haters with rainbow sparkle’ and ‘living her best life’.
The I’m a Celebrity....Get Me Out of Here winner recently revealed she has a new Channel 4 TV show in the making, telling the Mirror: “It is something different. It is with my family, honestly, I can’t wait to tell everyone as I am so excited. I have probably said too much - Maybe it involves foreign travel.”
