Shooting at Sheffield home was a 'targeted attack' as manhunt underway

Police say a shooting in a Sheffield home was a "targeted attack".

South Yorkshire Police are urging witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after shots were fired at a door of a house in Kearsley Road in the early hours of Monday morning.

Officers were called to the Highfield house at 1.44am on July 1 after reports of criminal damage. Police said: "Officers attended and discovered the door of a house had been damaged around 1.10am, by a gun being fired towards it."

The force is treating the shooting as a "targeted attack". Superintendent Nicola Leach said: “This incident will no doubt cause concern in the community and we will work hard to identify those responsible.

“I would urge anyone with information that could help us in our investigations to come forward and help us keep our communities safe.”
