Simon Cowell feared neck break after falling down stairs

He recently suffered a terrifying fall at his London home – and Simon Cowell has now revealed he feared he had broken his neck when he tumbled down the stairs.

The X Factor boss – who has three-year-old son Eric with partner Lauren Silverman – was rushed to hospital after he fell while going to get a glass of milk, and he has praised the NHS staff for their “amazing” work.

He told The Sun: “I was lying on my back thinking, ‘I hope I haven’t broken my neck.’ But the NHS staff were the most amazing people I’ve ever met, genuinely. Fortunately, it was all fine.

“He [Eric] probably would have told me off, and I didn’t want to worry him. He’s only three.”

Following Simon’s fall – which didn’t leave him with any lasting damage – the 58-year-old music mogul vowed to change his lifestyle, and admitted he tumbled because of his low blood pressure.

Simon Cowell returned to X Factor last weekend.

He recently said: “Sometimes we get a reminder that we’re not invincible and this was certainly mine. It was a huge shock.

“They think I fainted because I had low blood pressure and so I have got to really take good care of myself to sort that out.

“After all I am a dad and have more responsibility than ever.”

Last week, Simon was said to have splashed out £60,000 on seven electric bikes to kick-start his new healthier regime.

While his new modes of transport are battery-assisted, he still has to do plenty of pedalling and admitted he is feeling the effects in his legs already after going to and from work.

He told the Daily Mail: “I’ve been told to exercise more. Cycling’s quite boring so I decided to buy an electric bike and they’re literally addictive.

“So, I’ve bought three in America, and four in England, and now cycle to work every day.

“You do still have to pedal them – my legs have definitely got stronger – but they’re just a bit easier.”
