Sinfonietta Pops Orchestra to have eclipse-inspired performance

Apr. 3—The upcoming total solar eclipse inspired the Sinfonietta Pops Orchestra to create a concert surrounding the sun, the moon and the stars.

The concert is set for 2 p.m. Sunday in the Marie Brendan Harvey Auditorium in the Conservatory of Music on the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College campus.

Some of the pieces from the Great American Songbook to be performed include "Old Devil Moon," "Over the Rainbow" and "Moonglow."

Along with the traditional instruments and strings of the orchestra, the talents of several saxophonists and guitarists will be featured in the program.

Admission for adults is $10. Students and children can attend for free. Parking is free.
