Spice Girls Comeback Single LEAKS – And It’s ‘Perfect Pop’

STOP EVERYTHING! A new Spice Girls song has leaked, less than a week after the girls – Melanie Brown, Geri Horner and Emma Bunton – announced a reunion for the 20th anniversary of ‘Wannabe.’

It has emerged that the trio have recorded their first new material in almost a decade, with a track called ‘Song For Her’, which has been described as a mix between Rita Ora’s ‘Poison’ and Rachel Platten’s ‘Fight Song.’

According to The Sun, the song explores how the girl group members have - at times - felt that they lost their Spice Girls identities after becoming mothers.

Lyrics of the ‘perfect pop’ track reportedly include: ‘Wipe up your tears of doubt you have been crying, lift up your dreams feel like you’re flying, never forget the girl is the woman you are.’

Reports circulated yesterday (July 13) claiming that Spice Girls songwriter and producer Eliot Kennedy had his laptop stolen from his hotel in London, though the song leak is apparently a separate incident.

Melanie Chisholm and Victoria Beckham’s vocals are absent from the new track after they decided against the comeback event – but this won’t prevent the reformed ‘GEM’ trio from releasing more music.

“Obviously the girls have been recording in the studio over the past few months. The plan is very much for there to be new music,” a source revealed.

“It will not be released under the GEM name that they gave themselves in their announcement, this is still very much the Spice Girls,” they added.

“It’s a Spice Girls song through and through and it’s something millions of their fans will be able to relate to having grown up with them.

“You can guarantee as soon as it’s released they will be back at the top of the charts where they belong, with or without Mel C or Victoria.”
