Suspect named after men and women arrested on way back from Glastonbury

A man was charged with drug supply offences after police stopped a car returning from Glastonbury.

Officers investigating county lines drug dealing set their sights on a vehicle travelling back from the music festival on Monday, July 1, following a tip-off. The vehicle was seen on the M56 crossing over the Mersey Gateway bridge, and was stopped by police at around 9.50pm on Higher Road in Halewood.

Four people in the vehicle were detained while a quantity of Class A and B drugs and several mobile phones were recovered. Merseyside Police has now confirmed a man has been charged with drugs supply offences.

Thomas Eden, 30, of Lovel Road, in Speke, was charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine and heroin, and was remanded into custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on July 31.

A 27-year-old woman from Speke, who was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs (cocaine) and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (MDMA), has been released under investigation.

No further action will be taken with regards to a 40-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man who were also arrested, police said.
