TD Bank and Starbucks Graffitied as Hundreds Join Pro-Palestinian Protest in Philadelphia

TD Bank and Starbucks were graffitied on Sunday, December 3, after hundreds of people marched through Philadelphia calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Footage by Karen Closkey shows damage to the two businesses on Walnut Street.

The University of Pennsylvania Division of Public Safety said, “Penn Police documented multiple instances of graffiti along the march route and will be investigating to identify the individuals responsible,” in an alert reported by the college newspaper.

According to the Associated Press, Starbucks and its union sued each other in October after the union posted a message on X, formerly Twitter, expressing solidarity with Palestine.

According to a report by the Guardian and the think tank Responsible Statecraft, TD Bank saw potential for earnings from the Israel-Hamas war.

TD Bank says it has donated $750,000 towards “humanitarian aid efforts in Middle East” since October. Credit: Karen Closkey via Storyful
