This 102-Year-Old Woman Credits Her Long Life To Having A Pint Every Day At 4pm

An old saying has it, ‘If you don’t drink and smoke, you don’t live longer - it just seems longer.’

But one feisty old lady claims that having a daily pint of cold beer (at exactly 4pm) is the secret to her long life.

Mildred ‘Millie’ Bowers of South Carolina is 102, and about to celebrate her 103rd birthday at the end of this month - and still enjoys a daily pint.

‘Have a beer, doctor’s orders,’ she says.

Bowers told nurses at her assisted living facility that she enjoyed a cold beer - and the doctor approved of the idea of her having a pint every day at 4pm.

She’s not sure if her personal elixir is for everyone, though.

‘It’s all in the genes,’ she says. ‘I feel OK because I’m in good health.

‘Look, there are people who don’t like coffee and people who don’t like tea, but I want everyone to drink what they like.’
