Three things spotted in Man United training amid Bruno Fernandes update

Manchester United will be looking to get back to winning ways with a trip to Crystal Palace on Monday evening (8pm kick-off).

United failed to close the gap to fifth-placed Tottenham after drawing 1-1 with Burnley at Old Trafford, last time out. Six points currently separates the sides currently with Spurs set to travel to Liverpool on Sunday.

Erik ten Hag is still contending with injuries ahead of their clash with Palace. With that said, MEN Sport takes a look at players who have been involved in preparations at Carrington this week.

Bruno Fernandes doubt

The Portuguese became the latest concern after he was seen wearing a protective medical cast in his right wrist. The 29-year-old picked up an injury in the FA Cup semi-final win against Coventry City and has since played through the pain barrier against Sheffield United and Burnley.

Fernandes was pictured leaving a coffee shop in Wilmslow on Friday morning and has not been spotted in training. Ten Hag said: "We had an issue with Bruno, so he is a doubt for Monday, but he will fight to be a part of this game. Never rule him out for any game, and he is giving his best to be available."

Youth presence

Louis Jackson was present in training with the first team this week. The Under-18s centre-back was named on the bench as an unused substitute against Sheffield United and Burnley respectively. He will be eyeing his first debut for United after being involved with the first team set up this season.

Harry Amass was also involved at Carrington. The 17-year-old was named on the bench in United's last four league games and is yet to make his senior debut.

Ethan Wheatley was also called up by Ten Hag after making his debut against Sheffield United. In addition, Habeeb Ogunneye and Omari Forson were also involved.

Meanwhile, Jonny Evans and Anthony Martial both joined their teammates in training.

Notable absences

After missing the last two games, Willy Kambwala remains absent from training. Scott McTominay is currently a doubt to face Palace after missing training this week.

However, Ten Hag says he is hopeful about his return to training this weekend. He said: "Scott didn't train so far this week, but I expect him back in training on Saturday. Then we will have to see up to the game if he is 100 per cent available or for [only] a part in the game."

Victor Lindelof, Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw, Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez and Tyrell Malacia were not spotted among their teammates in training.
