Bristol City not in for Butler-Oyedeji

Butler-Oyedeji has experienced loans in League One with Accrington Stanley and Cheltenham Town, could be set to leave Emirates Stadium this summer having failed to make a first-team breakthrough.

The 21-year-old has also been linked with German second division sides Schalke and FC Nurnberg.

Ashby links up with Newcastle squad

Harrison Ashby has travelled with the rest of the Newcastle United squad for their post-season tour of Australia.

The full-back spent the season on loan at Swansea City, but struggled to make his mark in south Wales, making just 13 Championship appearances for the Swans.

He has now returned to the north east following the completion of his loan spell, and has since been included in Eddie Howe's 29-man squad for the trip Down Under.

Newcastle face Tottenham Hotspur at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Wednesday, with the Magpies then heading to Marvel Stadium in Melbourne's Docklands to take on an A-League All Star side.

Paterson on holiday

Swansea City star Jamie Paterson has been snapped while out on holiday, as negotiations over his Swansea City future continue.

The midfielder was one of several stars out of contract at the club this summer, and resolution on his future hasn't yet been reached.

Liam Walsh, Nathanael Ogbeta and Przemyslaw Placheta have all been released following the end of their respective deals, while Joe Allen and Kyle Naughton have both penned fresh deals at the club.

Luke Williams is similarly keen to keep Paterson on board for the upcoming season, but there hasn't yet been a breakthrough in negotiations for a new deal.

Wright's rallying cry to young Swans

Swansea City Under-21s' coach Anthony Wright has called on his side to go one step further and reach the Professional Development League national final when they face Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Monday night.

Wright says his side had set themselves the goal of reaching the play-offs this season after missing out last year by one point.

Now, they are determined to make the most of it and go one better.

“We were so close last season, so to fulfil our objective of making the play-offs this time round is brilliant," he said.

"The boys have had some brilliant experiences this season, experiences they will have no doubt learned from and we want to go that step further.

"We know how difficult it’s going to be, we know we’re coming up against the toughest opponent we could come across. So all of us need to be on our 'A' game, and we will have to be at a very high standard."
