The PSNI have this evening reminded motorists of potential traffic disruption in Belfast tonight.

Several parades to mark 108 years since the battle of the Somme are taking place in the east of the city and delays in the area are expected.

Restrictions have been in place since 5.30pm and are expected to remain until around 11pm.

A statement from the PSNI said: "There will be traffic disruption in East Belfast this evening, Monday July 1, due to planned Somme Commemoration parades.

"Delays are expected from 5:30pm as participants and supporters arrive to assemble at the Templemore Avenue area. The areas impacted are likely to be Templemore Avenue, Albertbridge Road, Ravenhill Road, Castlereagh Road, Beersbridge Road, Newtownards Road and surrounding areas.

"The parade is expected to disperse at around 11pm. Officers will be on the ground to accommodate the flow of traffic and to avoid potential delays, road users may wish to seek another route if not attending the parade."
