It could be all change on Tunbridge Wells Borough Council after the 2024 Local Elections as boundary changes mean that every seat on the council is up for grabs.

The number of councillors has been reduced by nine, from 48 to 39, with each ward in the borough electing between one and three members depending on population size.

The council is currently in no overall control with the Lib Dems as the largest party. The 48 seats are taken by 17 Lib Dems, 11 Conservatives, 9 Tunbridge Wells Alliance, 7 Labour, two unaligned Independents and two Independents for Tunbridge Wells. 20 seats will be required for any party to take control of the council.

The only other Kent borough with Local Elections in 2024 is Maidstone, which is also reelecting the whole council due to boundary changes. However, every area in the county will have a vote for the next Kent Police Crime Commissioner. All of the votes are being held on Thursday, May 2.

When are results expected?

It is expected that full results will be declared for Tunbridge Wells Borough Council at around 4pm on Friday, May 3.
