Turkish Mob Messes With Wrong Guy... Who Turns Out To Be An Irish Pro Boxer

A mob of Turkish shopkeepers picked on the wrong guy when they attacked an Irish tourist - who turned out to be a professional boxer.

CCTV footage going viral today purportedly shows the foreigner fending off more than 15 local business owners in Istanbul last week.

They used clubs, stools, sticks and their fists to batter the man after he accidentally opened a street-side fridge too quickly and bottles tumbled out.

He stood his ground, however, and ended up knocking one shopkeeper to the ground.

Realising that he wouldn’t go down without a serious fight, the locals then backed off - and the Irishman walked away.

Todays Zaman has identified the tourist as Kuwaiti-born Mohammed Fadel Dobbous, who reportedly has Irish citizenship.

A source at the Irish consulate in Istanbul told The Independent: “The shop owner overreacted and attacked the tourist with a stick.“

"The surprising thing is that the tourist turned out to be a pro boxer and knocked down the angry shopkeepers one by one,” he added.
