A prequel of 2009 horror flick Orphan is officially in production.

Via Deadline, it's been revealed that the title is Orphan: First Kill and actress Isabelle Fuhrman will reprise her character Esther with the aid of forced perspective shooting and a miracle-working make-up department.

The Devil Inside director William Brent Bell is behind this one, replacing the original's Jaume Collet-Serra.

Fans of Orphan will remember the spine-chilling revelation that Esther isn't actually nine-years-old, instead, she's a 33-year-old named Leena Klammer who suffers from proportional dwarfism – spending her entire adult life posing as a child.

Fuhrman was around the same age as her character back then, but with her returning for First Kill it'll take a herculean effort from all involved to pull this off as she's now 23-years-old.

Somehow, the filmmakers are going to make her appear even younger than nine.

The synopsis for First Kill reads: "Leena orchestrates a brilliant escape from an Estonian psychiatric facility and travels to America by impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family.

"But Leena's new life as 'Esther' comes with an unexpected wrinkle and pits her against a mother who will protect her family at any cost."
