UK set for 72 hour Iberian heatwave bringing 'hottest weather of year'

Weather maps show the exact date the UK will roast in a 27C Iberian blast. Fresh weather maps from Netweather TV show the mercury skyrocketing between June 27 and June 30 - as the sixth month of the year is crowned in summery fashion after weeks of chilly conditions and cooler temperatures.

Weather maps show most of the UK will start experiencing warmer conditions from June 27. James Madden's Exacta Weather said: "There are now some good and increasing signals for change just after mid-month and into the final part of June within our OWN forecast projections that appear to repeatedly build high pressure and some warm to potentially hot temperatures across our shores within this period, and this switch should be more than capable of bringing the warmest weather of the year to date to many locations within the UK and Ireland."

He said: "At the absolute bare minimum, we should be looking at a good three to five day very warm and hot period or longer, with potentially excessively hot weather developing during this period (June 23 to 30) as some major heat gets drawn north thanks to high pressure across our shores.

"Additionally, these temperatures could reach as high as the low to mid-30s in parts of the south at the peak of this within the next several days, with parts further north and into Ireland also potentially seeing the 30C mark being reached from this type of high-pressure setup, or at least the high 20s in many parts."

The Met Office forecast from June 24 to July 3 explains: "Predominantly fine and settled through the period and for much of the country turning much warmer than we have seen in recent weeks. At first some thicker cloud could bring some outbreaks of mostly light rain, this mainly affecting northwestern areas.

"However for most it will be dry throughout, and likely to turn increasingly warm as we move into next week. There is a chance that this could persist for much of the rest of the period, turning increasingly hot, however by the latter part of next week we see a large range of outcomes, some of which allow for a return of temperatures closer to average.

"However the trend toward much warmer conditions continuing through next week is preferred."
