Vicky McClure is swapping her explosives officer uniform for her dancing shoes this weekend, as she gets ready to visit Newcastle for the first time ever to host her over 30s clubbing event Day Fever.

Fresh from the second series of gripping ITV terrorist thriller Trigger Point having millions hooked every weekend, Vicky is heading to the North East with husband Jonny Owen and the other founders of Day Fever, as their much buzzed about event arrives at Boiler Shop. After ChronicleLive first broke news of what is being billed as the 'ultimate day session' in February, tickets flew out at lightning speed, with many Geordies clearly well up for the prospect of doing some drinking and dancing before the sun goes down.

Day Fever was launched in Sheffield last year, with the premise being that you can have an absolute ball with your mates, dance your socks off and still be home, probably with a takeaway in hand at a sensible time. And the even better news for the hundreds who snapped up tickets for Day Fever in Newcastle on May 26 is that Greggs are going along with plenty of food to line people's stomachs and keep their energy levels up.

Speaking to ChronicleLive earlier this year, Vicky and Jonny said they just knew Newcastle would be the 'perfect fit' for Day Fever and, while Jonny is no stranger to Tyneside, Vicky has high hopes that her first ever trip here will be one to remember, with the scheduling of the event for a Bank Holiday Sunday a stroke of genius, given a lot of people going won't have to worry about getting up for work the next day.

The couple also teased a killer soundtrack for the afternoon extravaganza, which is due to get going at 3pm, with music from the likes of Whitney, Madonna and Oasis, adding that Dexy's Midnight Runners' Geno had been a particular hit at Day Fevers so far and that there would also be a 'slow dance section.'

Given the demand for tickets for Sunday's event, a second one was a total no brainer, with tickets going on sale for the next Day Fever Newcastle on Saturday, July 20 going on sale last week and already selling out.
