Anderson Creek Wildfire Largest in Kansas History

A wildfire in Barber County, Kansas, remained at 15 percent contained on Saturday, March 26, after it burned 400,000 acres along the Oklahoma border. The fire started burning on Tuesday in Oklahoma before spreading over 620 square miles. The fire is the largest in Kansas history, according to the state forest service.

At least two houses have been destroyed by the fire, dubbed the Anderson Creek Fire, and millions of dollars worth of farm fencing needs to be replaced. The Kansas Army National Guard also has responded to the fire.
