Around 100 people tried to save a whale shark beached on Santa Marianita Beach in Manta,in Ecuador’s Manabí province, on Monday, April 13. Fishermen reported seeing the whale shark become stranded on the sand around 8am. When around 50 navy and police personnel were unable to budge the shark, volunteers joined the rescue attempt.
