Virgin Media screens The Dark Knight Rises in true Batman style, on top of a tower block

To celebrate The Dark Knight Rises hitting Virgin Media's pay-per-view movie streaming service, the service provider invited Batman fans to a screening of the film in a themed, but rather peculiar location - at the top of a tower block in the heart of London.

As well as offer the sort of vistas show by Nolan's superb sweeping shots in his Batman trilogy, Virgin Media shipped in three of the actual costumes used in the The Dark Knight Rises, those of Bane, Catwoman and Batman's own, and several of the props. Alfred the butler was also on hand to help out.

Each fan took away with them a bag of Batman related goodies, and hats, gloves and scarves as it was nearly zero degrees hundreds of feet up on a cold, December evening.

The three costumes will be situated at the Virgin Media store in the Westfield, Stratford shopping centre for 8 and 9 December, should you fancy heading down to take a gander.

The Dark Knight Rises is available to rent on Virgin Movies now at £3.99 for the standard definition version, £4.99 for HD.
