'Wake up Woody': Talking Christmas Tree Returns to Nova Scotia Mall

A talking Christmas tree named Woody returned to a mall in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, for the festive season, video posted on November 19 shows.

Footage shared by local MP Darren Fisher shows a crowd at Mic Mac Mall shouting “wake up Woody”. On the crowd’s third attempt, Woody’s large, cartoonish eyes open to cheers from the audience.

Woody returned to the mall after a 15-year hiatus in 2021, according to local reports. The tree’s return was met with both joy and terror, with some social media users describing the display as a ‘Christmas nightmare’. Credit: Darren Fisher via Storyful
