In Waverley a by-election was held on Thursday (May 2) to fill the only available seat on the council in Witley and Milford. The result announced today was that the elected candidate is Laura Cavaliere, Liberal Democrats. This means the party has held the seat. The turn out was 43.5%. We are expecting a full breakdown of results imminently - check back later.

The borough has 50 seats in total. The last all out vote was in 2023 when the council remained in no overall control. The Liberal Democrats are the largest party with 21 councillors and are in coalition with the Farnham Residents' 13 members, Labour’s two officials and the single representative of the Green Party. There are 10 councillors on the Conservative opposition and a further two independent members.

After the 2023 Local Elections the council is in "No Overall Control" and is run by a coalition of Lib Dem, Farnham Residents, Labour and the Green party. 26 seats are required for a majority.

The MP representing the greatest number of people who call Waverley Borough Council home is the chancellor Jeremy Hunt. The 57-year-old MP was first elected to the Southwest Surrey constituency in May 2005 For a full list of who is running for election at this council - see our story here.

Results, once confirmed will be available below. We are expecting a full breakdown of results imminently.
