After so much cool weather of late, experts are finally predicting a mini heatwave for Liverpool, with highs of 25C.

Things are set to turn milder this week, with the Met Office predicting highs of 16C in Liverpool today (Monday) and Tuesday, followed by highs of 17C, 18C and 19C, on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday respectively. We can expect it to be "largely dry" though cloudy at times, and it should feel warm in the sun, experts have said.

Looking further ahead, forecasters at Accuweather then predict a week of warm weather will begin on Sunday, June 23. Its predictions for this day anticipate "a blend of sun and clouds", and highs that feel like 21C.

Highs of 24C are again expected on Thursday, June 27, though with a fair bit of cloud. Thunderstorms are expected on the afternoon and evening of Friday, June 28, though it should still feel as warm as 23C.

And on Saturday, June 29, it should "remain warm" but with some periods of rain. Highs of 25C are anticipated in Liverpool. Things are then set to turn cooler, with maximum temperatures of 18C on Sunday, June 30, and mixed weather.

For the last week of June, the Met Office's long-range UK forecast reads: "Changeable conditions are likely to remains dominant, with the focus for these conditions continuing to be across the north and west, with spells of more settled and drier conditions likely in the south and east. Nationwide, temperatures are expected to be close to or slightly above average."
