Woman hit by van as police cordon off road

A road was blocked by police after a woman was hit by a van.

Emergency services were called to Brunswick Parade and Great Georges Road in Waterloo at around 7.20am on Tuesday, May 7. It followed reports of a crash involving a pedestrian, a woman, and a van.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital for assessment of injuries and the van driver stayed at the scene to assist with enquiries, police said. Pictures showed a large police cordon in the area and several police officers at the scene.

Road closures were in place at Brunswick Parade/Great Georges Road and Brunswick Parade/Stanley Road. Merseyside Police urged drivers to avoid the area where possible.
