Plane drops retardant on Rim Fire

The Rim Fire was in its sixth day of burning on August 22, having spread across roughly 165 square miles of California. In this video, a DC-10 plane fighting the blaze flies low over the Pine Mountain Lake region to drop retardant, in an effort to stem the fire. The fire crossed into Yosemite National Park on August 22, but is confined to the park’s more remote section, according to reports. Credit: cessna54c.
