A teenager has been arrested after police officers descended on a town centre.

Calls were made to the police at 4.51pm on Monday following reports of a man acting aggressively in Attleborough.

Eyewitnesses say armed police were patrolling the town and several police cars were spotted.

At least six police vehicles were seen in Church Street near the London Tavern.

The road was closed while officers attended the scene.

A man, aged in his late teens, was arrested on suspicion of threats to kill, common assault, criminal damage and attempted arson.

He was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning where he remains.

The road reopened just before 6pm.
