Is Banksy's latest work some surprise graffiti on a bridge in Hull?

World-famous artist Banksy has appeared to confirm he is behind mysterious graffiti work on a bridge in Hull.

The surprise art of a young boy wearing a helmet and cape alongside the words “Draw the raised bridge” and looks like the young boy is sitting on some already existing bubble style writing graffiti.

It was first spotted on Scott Street Bridge, Hull, by passers-by on Thursday and shared on social media.

And now Banksy appeared to have confirmed the mural is his latest work by sharing a picture of it to his near two million followers.

The anonymous artist shared two posts on Instagram, writing on one: “RAISE THE DRAWBRIDGE! Hull.”

Both posts prompted more than 100,000 likes and thousands of comments, with one user saying: “Thank you for inspiring us all”.

Councillors in the area have calling for the artwork to be removed despite calling his work ‘mindbogglingly brilliant.’

Hull Councillor John Abbott said it should be “cleaned off”, but accepted there is a case for preserving the artwork.

He said: “It should be cleaned off and then photographed and kept, as Banksy is not a man without talent.”
