A Canadian couple have been left speechless after winning the lottery for a third time, scooping almost £5 million.
Barbara and Douglas Fink had already won the lottery in 1989 and 2010, but bagged their biggest jackpot so far with their most recent win.
The couple, who live in Edmonton, Alberta, said they will use the C$8.1 million (£4.9 million) to support their daughters and grandchildren, as well as buying a new house.
Mrs Fink released they had triumphed again in the Western Canada Lottery after checking the ticket while her husband was out of town, and immediately tried calling him.
“He didn’t answer, so I waited five minutes and tried again,” she said. “That time, he picked up. I said, ‘I did it again!’”
She added: “I knew we had all the numbers, but I didn’t know how many winners there were. I called Douglas back before midnight and told him it was more than $8 million!”
Mr Fink previously shared a C$128,000 (£76,000) with four friends in 1989. In 2010, the couple won a C$100,000 (£59,000) prize.
