A car crashed into a basement garden.

The collision happened in Vernon Terrace, Brighton, near its junction with Windlesham Avenue.

A nearby resident told The Argus: "There are crashes here all the time. It is a nightmare junction."

Bystanders gathered round to inspect the damage after the incident, which happened just after 1pm today.

A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said: "A car hit a wall of a basement flat. The driver sustained minor injuries and the road was closed for emergency services to deal with the incident."
