Celtic transfer bulletin as vital Flavius Daniliuc decision made and new keeper target completes full house

Reported Celtic target Flavius Daniliuc will not return to Red Bull Salzburg after the Austrian side turned down their option to sign him permanently from Salernitana.

The defender – ready to star for Austria at Euro 2024 – returned to his homeland for game time over the second half of last season. However, Salzburg decided against triggering the shot to land Daniliuc for keeps. Brendan Rodgers' double winners have been linked with a new central defender this summer and the 23-year-old appears to fit the bill.

Daniliuc brings big club experience with spells at both Real Madrid and Bayern Munich and briefly crossed paths with Nicholas Kuhn at the latter. The versatile defender – who can play at both centre and right back – is seeking a long-term home with his Salernitana stay nearing the end game. Their demotion to Serie B means he's almost certainly for the exit door.

Meanwhile, Celtic are being linked with Yvon Mvogo – the 12th keeper to be namechecked with a move to Glasgow this summer. The need to replace Joe Hart is palpable but it's almost turned into Wacky Races on the continent – with a host of publications talking up their local option to be next between the sticks.

Mvogo is another who is almost certain to be on the move with his club side Lorient relegated to Ligue 2. And Le Telegramme claim Celtic, Nantes and Parma are all possible destinations. Peter Vindahl Jensen, Martin Dubravka and Caoimhin Kelleher have all been linked but moves for Dominik Livaković and Altay Bayindir appear less likely.
