Coronation Street fans convinced they know who Steve's next girlfriend is

Coronation Street fans think they know who Steve McDonald's next love interest will be, after wife Tracy Barlow left him for his footballing hero.

Tracy and Steve had been married for more than five years, and seemed happy enough until Tracy became bored. And when footballer and decorator Tommy Orpington entered the picture, Tracy just couldn't help herself.

Since she swapped the cobbles for Spain, for a new life with Tommy, Steve has been trying to meet a new woman. But it hasn't gone well for the single dad.

Wednesday's episode saw Steve go on a date, but the woman told him she didn't fancy him. To make matters worse, his best friend Tim Metcalfe then told him he would be spending less time with him, and more time with his wife, Sally Metcalfe.

However, many Corrie fans think his luck is about to change, and they have "worked out" who he could soon find romance with.

Writing in the comments section of a Coronation Street Instagram post, Maureen said: "He should hook up with Glenda that would be a scream".

Nancy said: "Steve and Glenda together please" and Amy said: "Steve and Glenda are going to be a thing, mark my words".

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and ITVX
